Introducing The Nurturing Play Collective
You already love your child fiercely. You’re already doing so much right.
But maybe you’ve wondered: is this normal? Am I doing enough? What is my child actually trying to tell me through their play?
The Nurturing Play Collective is a warm, judgment-free space where you get the knowledge, the framework, and the support to answer those questions with confidence, not anxiety.
Everything you need to feel confident about your child’s play

Monthly seasonal play guides simple, practical ideas aligned with what your child is developmentally ready for.
A library of schema-specific play ideas using things you already have at home. No toy shopping required
Ongoing support from Shannon, a qualified early childhood teacher who is also in the thick of it as a mum of two.

Nurturing Play
Most parenting content gives you more things to do. The Collective gives you a new way of seeing.
Not a Facebook group, a focused, calm community space on Kindyweb.
Not a long course, six short modules you can complete in a week.
Not prescriptive, built around observing your specific child, not a generic checklist.
You have a child aged 0–5 and want to feel more confident about their play
You’re tired of information overload and want one simple, practical framework instead
You want to stop second-guessing yourself and start trusting what you already know
Start noticing your child’s play patterns (schemas) in a completely new way. Watch the ordinary moments become extraordinary.

No. The Nurturing Play Collective is hosted here on Kindyweb a calm, focused community space that’s separate from social media. No algorithm, no ads, no comparison scroll.
The content is written specifically for New Zealand families. It’s aligned with Te Whāriki (our national early childhood curriculum), uses NZ seasons and contexts, and honours tikanga Māori values, including a no food-in-play approach.
The Collective is currently in beta, a small, founding group of parents helping to shape what it becomes. Join the waitlist to be first to know when doors open.
Pricing will be confirmed before launch. Join the waitlist and you’ll be the first to hear, with a founding member offer for those who are on the list.

I'm Shannon.
A play advocate with 10+ years experience supporting families through play based education.
I’ve been working in early childhood education since 2012. I have a Bachelor of Teaching in ECE, a postgraduate Certificate in Infant and Toddler Learning & Wellbeing, and over a decade of experience working with babies, toddlers, and young children across a range of settings here in Aotearoa.
But the most important credential for this work? I’m a mum. And even with all that professional knowledge, I’ve felt the overwhelm, the comparison, and the quiet 3am wondering if I’m doing enough.
Nurturing Play is built from everything I know professionally and personally, about what children need, what parents actually have time for, and what a real difference looks like in everyday family life.
I can’t wait to share it with you.
